Computer Science and Engineering Graduate Student Financial Support

Financial aid is available to graduate students in the form of teaching and research assistantships and fellowships.

Graduate student's application for financial support should be included with the application admission.

Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA)

A Graduate Teaching Assistant assists a faculty member in either a classroom or laboratory.

To apply for an assistantship, the student MUST be admitted to a degree program or have an application on file by February 1st for the following fall quarter.

To apply for a Graduate Teaching Assistantship, please complete the forms for graduate financial aid/scholarships. You will need the Graduate Assistantship Application and the Letter of Recommendation ( two letters of recommendation are required to be submitted ).

Graduate Research Assistant (GRA)

A Graduate Research Assistant works with a faculty member on externally funded research projects.

To be considered for a Graduate Research Assistantship, complete the GRA application form and submit it with a vita that describes your background and research experience and objectives. Your application will be made available to all faculty and will remain on file for one year.

Dayton Area Graduate Studies Institute (DAGSI) Scholarships

The Dayton Area Graduate Studies Institute (DAGSI) offers financial support to graduate computer science and engineering students at Wright State. DAGSI offers both fellowships and assistantships. For more information, visit http://www.dagsi.org/.

Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT)

IGERT Fellowships

Long known for its commitment to students with disabilities, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering participates in an Interdisciplinary PhD program that focuses on Technology-based Learning for the Disabled. Fellowships are available for eligible students and are sponsored by the National Science Foundation. Eligible students will receive:

  • An initial stipend of $30,000 per year
  • Tuition and fees paid for a minimum of two years
