Transfer Students

The College of Engineering and Computer Science at Wright State accepts coursework from several colleges and universities. We have transfer agreements setup with most of the community colleges in the area. These agreements specifically tell you which classes can be taken at your current institution and their equivalent classes at Wright State.

If you are thinking about attending a community college for a year and then transferring into one of our programs, please be aware of the following:

Most community colleges offer associates degrees in engineering technology. These programs are very different from a four-year degree in engineering. If you are starting at a community college with the plan of moving into a four-year degree, you should talk with an advisor about your transfer plans.

Your community college may offer an engineering parallel program. This parallel program is specifically for students wanting to move into a four-year program. For example, instead of taking technical math and technical physics, students in the parallel program will take calculus and calculus-based physics, which transfer into a four-year engineering program.
