Dr. Liu joined the Wright State University as an assistant professor in Summer 2006. She received her B.S. degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Science & Technology Beijing, China in 1998. She earned both her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in the School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University in 2001 and 2006, respectively.

Dr. Liu's current research interests include data mining, information visualization, design of interactive systems, computer-supported cooperative work, usability evaluation, agent-based modeling and cross-cultural studies. She is serving on the editorial boards of International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction and Human Factors and Ergonomics in Manufacturing and Service Engineering.  She has publications in journals including Ergonomics, International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, Theoretical Issues in Ergonomics Science, International Journal of Production Research, Computers & Industrial Engineering, and IIE Transactions on Manufacturing & Design. She has served a referee for journals such as Applied Ergonomics, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction, Behavior and Information Technology, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing, IIE Transactions on Manufacturing and Design, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Automation in Construction, and IFAC Control Engineering.

Dr. Liu is a member of the Human Factor and Ergonomics Society (HFES), Association for Computing Machinery's Special Interest Group on Computer-Human Interaction (ACM SIGCHI), Society for Women Engineering, and Toastmasters International.
